Since 2013, Lucas Oil Center has hosted an annual giveback event each July to support Riley Children’s Foundation and their incredible work in providing life-saving care for sick and injured children. What started as a single-day event has expanded into a full giveback weekend, ending in a community car show, with a portion of the proceeds from the entire weekend benefiting Riley. This year marks the third annual Riley Giveback Weekend at Lucas Oil Center, running from Friday, July 12, to Sunday, July 14, with the weekend concluding with the Riley Giveback Car Show on Sunday.

During the Riley Giveback Weekend, our dedicated staff at both locations proudly wore red Riley Giveback Weekend shirts as they worked to promote the event. To support the cause, 15 percent of all car wash and oil change sales were donated to Riley Children’s Foundation. In addition to these contributions, donations were also collected both on-site and online, allowing even more people to participate in supporting the life-saving work that Riley Children’s Foundation provides.

Riley Giveback Car Show at Lucas Oil Center West
The highlight of our Riley Giveback Weekend is the Riley Giveback Car Show. This year, the car show alone raised over $1,000. Even though the car show took place on the hottest day of the year so far, we still had a strong turnout with many cars registering. Every car that registered was entered into our door prize drawing, which featured prizes like Lucas Oil Center gift cards, Nitro Wash gift books, and various Lucas Oil merchandise. Additionally, Lucas Oil Products and Riley Children’s Foundation contributed door prizes to make the event even more special.
Trophies and the Award categories for the Riley Giveback Car Show
We also had eight award categories, Best Motorcycle or Bike, Best Car, Best Truck, Best Jeep, Best Racecar, People’s Choice, Owner’s Choice, and Best in Show (You can see each of the winners with their vehicle in the gallery below).

Thanks to our partners at Lucas Oil Products, we also had another unique prize to give away. Lucas Oil Products donated four tickets to any 2024-2025 home Colts game that were then given away to one lucky customer who stopped in during the weekend and got an oil change or car wash. Joe Morris from Evansville, IN was our lucky winner and was extremely grateful to have won.

– How Much We Raised –
Fifteen percent of the proceeds from all car washes at the east side Lucas Oil Center’s Nitro Wash throughout the weekend, and fifteen percent of the proceeds from all oil changes at both the east and west side locations on Saturday, July 13, were donated to Riley. Additionally, donations collected at both locations throughout July, along with the car show’s registration fees and People’s Choice voting fees, were also contributed to Riley Children’s Foundation.
This year, Lucas Oil Center’s grand total donation was $4,500. And to help give back even further we enlisted the help of our partners at Lucas Oil Products to match our total donation. Between Lucas Oil Center and Lucas Oil Products, we were able to donate $9,000 to Riley Children’s Foundation this year!

– Why Riley & How You Can Donate –
Lucas Oil Center has a strong family connection with Riley Children’s Foundation as two of owner Bill Floyd’s grandchildren have received critical care at Riley Children’s Hospital. We are proud to be able to support such a great cause year after year. If you would like to support Riley Children’s Foundation or learn more about the foundation and what they do, visit RileyKids.org.
– Thank You –
As a final mention we would like to thank the hardworking teams at Lucas Oil Center and the Nitro Wash, our partners at Lucas Oil Products, 104FM WIKY, It Takes a Village No-Kill Rescue, Frosty Bites, Aaron Farr for providing the sound equipment at the car show, Jacob Hubbs for running the sound at the show, and each person who stopped in during our Riley Giveback Weekend or came out to our Riley Giveback Car Show. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without your help, and we’re looking forward to making next year’s giveback weekend even bigger.
