On the weekend of July 29-31, 2022, Lucas Oil Center held its annual Riley Give Back Weekend benefiting Riley Children’s Foundation. 15% of all car wash proceeds for the entire weekend along with 15% of all oil changes from both East and West side locations on Saturday were donated back to Riley. Lucas Oil Center also held the 1st annual Riley Give Back Car Show. Registration was $15.00 per vehicle and all proceeds from the show went back to Riley.
All the hard work and effort over the weekend lead up to the 104FM WIKY Riley Radiothon on August 4, where Lucas Oil Center was pleased to presented a check to Riley for $3,900.00 – surpassing the goal for this year. This was the largest check the company has presented while being a part of the Riley Radiothon over the past several years.
The team at Lucas Oil Center kicked off the Give Back Weekend on July 28 with an appearance on the 104FM WIKY Morning Show with Dennis Jon Bailey and Diane Douglas. Owner Bill Floyd, along with his granddaughter, Skyla, expressed on-air just how important Riley is to them and their family and why this give back always means so much to everyone at Lucas Oil Center.

Give Back Weekend officially began on Friday, July 29 at the Lucas Oil Center Nitro Car Wash on Green River Road in Evansville. Even through there was rain in the forecast most of the weekend, many amazing customers visited and supported Riley Children’s Foundation. The Nitro Wash crew did a great job collecting donations as customers entered the wash.

Two of the area’s most popular radio stations also did live remotes from the East location. Dennis Jon Bailey from WIKY was out on Friday promoting the car wash and Clay from Hot 96 was out on Saturday promoting car washes and oil changes.

Riley Hospital for Children is one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals. Expert, family-centered pediatric care is available at Riley for every child who needs it.
Riley Hospital opened in 1924 as Indiana’s first hospital exclusively for children. Now, more than 90 years later, Riley is home to the state’s largest pediatric research program, where physician-scientists move their discoveries as quickly as possible to the bedsides of children.
Many families of Lucas Oil Center employees, including the family that own and operate the business, have had to rely on Riley for the care of their children. We do this give back not just for our own kids, but for the kids who may one day need help from Riley. This organization is near and dear to the heart of everyone at Lucas Oil Center.

On Sunday, July 31, Lucas Oil Center held the 1st annual Riley Give Back Car Show. When the day began, the chances of rain looked to be pretty good. But as the morning progressed and with a little positivity, it appeared that the rain would stay south. The cloud cover mixed with the rain in the south ended up making the day the perfect temperature for a car show – and there was no rain. The first-year car show was a huge success with 78 cars registered. All registration proceeds along with $1.00 People’s Choice votes and donations all went back to Riley.

This year’s car show had some great support from several amazing local organizations.
The coolest little snow cone truck in the Tri-State area made an appearance at the car show. A huge thank you goes to Aaron Talley and The Ice Box Snow Cone Company for keeping everyone nice and cool during the event. Even though it wasn’t too hot, the snow cones still hit the spot. And according to Aaron, his little truck was a big hit with the crowd.

Another huge thank you goes out to a group of volunteers from It Takes a Village No-Kill Animal Shelter. They came out and served hamburgers and hot dogs to our hungry crowd. All the proceeds from their food sales went back to their shelter.
It Takes a Village No-Kill Animal Shelter’s mission is “To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance.” They are a 501(c)(3) mostly volunteer, no-kill rescue. They have two locations, one in Evansville, Indiana and one in Chrisney, Indiana. They have helped over 8200 animals since they were created in 2010.
