Founder Bill Floyd SEMA Hall of Fame & Retirement | 2025

Bill Floyd, our founder and owner, announced his retirement on December 23rd, 2024. The announcement was made on his 69th birthday, where he was surrounded by his family. He made the decision to pass on the business he built from the ground up to his daughters, April Maxey and Ashley Shofner. Even without Bill here to run the show, day to day business remains the same. We have a dedicated team, lead by April and Ashley, that ensure that Lucas Oil Center is here to take care of all of your vehicle service needs.

Since 2008, Bill has had a vision for Lucas Oil Center. He wanted to make this company into a community staple that provides the best automotive services at competitive prices. This led to him opening two different locations on Evansville’s East and West Side, as well as the Nitro Wash at our East location. The company expanded into other services within the automotive industry, and all of our services have been a hit throughout the local community.

Over the years, Lucas Oil Center has won numerous awards, including Best Car Wash in 2024, as well as Best Oil Change for 13 straight years, awarded by the Courier & Press. We also have been awarded as a Carfax Top-Rated Service Center. Bill’s success is not just limited to company awards, though.

HALL OF FAME

In December of 2024, Bill was inducted into the prestigious SEMA Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council, MPMC, Hall of Fame. This award came from the culmination of his very long career in the automotive industry, including this company and his work with Pink 69 Racing, on top of many other involvements within the automotive community.

As much as we are going to miss his wild personality here at Lucas Oil Center, we wish him the best in his retirement and in any future endeavors in the industry he has dedicated his life’s work to. Bill built his own legacy through this company, and we are going to do everything we can to continue that legacy.
