About Lucas Oil Center
A new entry into the burgeoning car care market is being launched in the Tri-State area, as principals of Lucas Oil Centers hone in on the location for their first facility –with sites being considered in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties. The inaugural Lucas Oil Center is targeted to open in fall, 2008, with additional facilities to follow in select Indiana locations.
The driving force behind this new venture is veteran automotive aftermarket executive Bill Floyd and his wife, Brenda —who herself has comprehensive local experience in the car washing and detailing business. The Floyds have obtained the enthusiastic support of Forrest and Charlotte Lucas, whose Lucas Oil brand has become a major presence in the marketplace. Originally focused on producing additives for the heavyduty trucking industry, Lucas Oil has in recent years branched out into offering its own high performance and racing motor oils for automotive and motorcycle use. With its extensive involvement in motorsports, Lucas Oil has experienced widespread consumer recognition. Indianapolis residents are also no doubt familiar with the new stadium being built for the Colts, which will carry the Lucas Oil name.
Lucas Oil Center will offer full service and express car washes, a full detail center, lube and oil changes, as well as brake, cooling system and air conditioning system services. Additionally, we’ll offer performance upgrades, and inventory an assortment of accessories and car care products. Naturally, we’ll carry the full line of Lucas Oil products, as well as other brands that consumers have come to trust. Our facility will be set up to handle cars, vans, light trucks, SUVs, RVs and motorcycles.”
Forrest Lucas added, “We’ve spent years developing what I believe are the very finest products of their kind for a wide variety of applications. These new Lucas Oil Centers will be a perfect medium for getting them to the general public. There are many people who are familiar with the Lucas brand, but have not used our products because until now they’ve only been available to do-it-yourself enthusiasts who service their own vehicles. I’m really excited about the growth potential here!” Floyd said, “Each facility will incorporate décor relating to motorsports and will also have an ‘Internet Café,’ where visitors have free Wi-Fi access to the web and can partake of refreshments while their vehicles are being serviced. Think of it as a cross between a NASCAR race shop and a Starbucks. We will have a clean and friendly environment the entire family can enjoy, and we’re even equipping the car wash with water cannons so the kids can have some fun."
